They have wooden high chairs for both heights. It’s a little hard to see but the first two long tables are normal table height, then the next 5 or 6 are high tops, then two more low ones at the back. There really are lots of appealing choices. The wood fire in Michael Schlow’s pizza stall had me craving good pizza, and the Craigie burger also piqued my interest to try at least once. We’ll head back when we’re looking for a casual, quick bite. Howell coffee has some inviting pastries from the excellent Seven Stars bakery in Providence, and Union Square donuts looked pretty tempting. The sandwich was $8.75, which isn’t terrible but not cheap, and the coffee was $3.25 for a small. It’s pretty easy to rack up the costs here. George Howell coffee went well on the side. The sandwich was pretty tasty and we both agreed we’d get it again sometime. We have a Monday holiday routine of heading out for breakfast sandwiches, and today I thought we’d hit up Time Out Market in the Fenway neighborhood to get a Mamaleh’s pastrami, egg, cheese and Russian dressing on house challah. We haven’t been eating out too much other than our usual Saturday brunches, so not much has been happening on the dinner front. My favorite place is The Tasting Counter.Things have been pretty quiet here so I figured I’d chime in. But only the two bars are the only ones who take cash. You can each order from a different restaurant and sit together at the tables. This is a great place to bring the whole family. The salad from the Healthy place looked wonderful. I like these much more than the the cloying sweet light style.Today I had the sea salt caramel and the hazelnut crunch. I had the eggnog and chocolate cream filled. Union Square Donuts The donuts are terrific. Both the fish and chips are really great. Saltie Girl makes incredible fish and chips. It has cucumber and pickled shredded onion and sun-dried tomatoes. The butter lettuce salad has a delicious dressing. They taste like Peking duck but with marinated chicken. You get world class options from a world class chef. The french fries at Craigie burger are delish. You must pay with a credit card or phone app. Be forewarned that if you go there, none of the establishments allow for payment in cash. Overall we enjoyed our visit to Time Out market as did our daughter and her friend. There was live music for part of the time that was there also. We arrived around 12:45 and had a little difficulty finding seating for the four of us. The younger members of our group also got some gelato for dessert. Our daughter also got a pizza from Monti while her friend appeared to get a type of vegan spring rolls. My wife and I split a margherita pizza from Monti. Fortunately we were all able to find something to our liking. My wife and I are omnivores while our daughter is a vegetarian and her friend is a vegan. There are long communal tables in the center of the venue with about 15 different food counters selling various type of food surrounding the seating area. Basically this can be described as an upscale food court. This was our first visit and we plan to return. My wife and I met our college student daughter and her friend for lunch at Time Out Market Boston on a Sunday in January.
